Campocecina, Carrara, Italy. HDR

Posted by Alessandro (Calci (PI), Italy) on 24 June 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

I love this place. And yet I can't help myself from becoming sad every time I think to all the devastation man can bring upon everything he touches.

You are looking at the wonderful mountains of Alpi Apuanee, literally butchered to extract the famous Carrara Marble. Those oh-so-interesting "stitches" are the roads leading to the caves.
